The Alnasca II is a solid shoe that provides protection, support and grip. The combination of Gore-Tex for waterproofing, Michelin soles for a durable and reliable grip and then the use of memory foam for comfort make for a great shoe.

Description  Features
Alnasca II Low GTX® Men - very lightweight low-cut approach shoe. The Alnasca combines high-quality material, fit and design with cutting-edge technology. Basefit for outstanding heel support and optimized lacing for additional support. The Michelin outsole provides excellent grip on any alpine approach. Unparalleled precision thanks to the short distance to the rock. Waterproof and breathable thanks to Gore-Tex. The Alnasca in a low-cut version offering flexibility for via ferrata, hiking and approach.
  • Pre-shaped tongue construction
  • Cushioning Strobel construction with stone shield
  • Base Fit®: Sliding webbing transfers power from lacing area to soles, ensuring improved hold in boot to increase safety and comfort.
  • Memo Foam: Ensures individual fit and cushions foot at instep, shin and ankle
  • 360 Heel Support: The three-dimensionally shaped TPU element is designed for the anatomy of the heel bone, which it completely envelops. This delivers optimum heel fit, helps prevent twisted ankles and protects against rock abrasion.
  • Rubber toe cap
  • Michelin® OCX Approach rubber compound

Mammut's Alnasca II Low GTX is a great hiking and approach shoe. The level of support from the design is great and results in a very comfortable shoe for a range of activities. The use of top quality materials is always going to help in footwear so the Gore-Tex lining provides reliable waterproof protection while the Michelin soles provide durability and fantastic grip for a range of surfaces. There is a decent level of stiffness in the soles which is why they work as approach shoes but the level of comfort is much greater than usual from approach footwear.

Usually I find the stiff soled shoe pretty hard going when walking for long periods but Mammut have done really well with the level of comfort they've been able to design into this boot. The use of a memory foam means that once you've worn them a few times they fit and stay comfortable. The lacing system is good and allows plenty of adjustability for staying comfortable on long days. If you are after a shoe with a stiffer sole, more support and good cushioning then these are a great option.

UK Orders

We aim to ship all orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday, on the same day. Free shipping is offered for UK Orders over £15 order value. The form of shipping will be at our discretion and will be at the most cost effective service. For most parcels this will be Royal Mail Second Class Post, the timescale for delivery is not guaranteed but Royal Mail aim to deliver second class post in 3-4 working days. Some parcels may require a signature.

Faster Tracked Services

Faster shipping options can be purchased at the checkout - see the drop down menu, First Class post is available, as is Next Working Day Delivery. We can arrange Next Day Delivery for a Saturday (when the order is placed on Friday) - call us for charges on an individual basis (01740 661467).

EU Orders

We aim to ship all orders placed before 3pm the same day. The default shipping is 'Standard Delivery'. This is an airmail service which does not offer tracking but is very reliable. We have learned from experience that transit times for non-UK orders can be very unpredictable. To geographically close countries in Europe the times are generally up to 4-5 days but can sometimes take a lot longer - we don't know why.

So, for EU Orders over £15 in value we offer FREE delivery, but the service time is unpredictable. If you need your order by a specific date you can opt for a faster service at the checkout.

Faster Tracked Services

Faster tracked shipping options can be purchased at the checkout - see the drop down menu on the checkout page for options. Typically the service we can offer is 2,3 or 4 working days, if you require a faster delivery than is showing on the drop down menu please contact us at info@worldbackpacker.co.uk as we may be able to help.

Rest of World Orders

We aim to ship all orders placed before 3pm the same day. The default shipping charge is 'Standard Delivery'. This is an airmail service which does not offer tracking but is very reliable. We have learned from experience that transit times for non-UK orders can be very unpredictable. To geographically close countries in the times are generally up to 4-5 days but can take a lot longer - we don't know why. Countries farther afield generally take longer but the spread of transit times is amazing, we have been notified of parcels arriving in Australia after 3 days and others taking a month and (rarely) longer than this.

So, while the shipping options for ROW are quite cheap the service time is unpredictable.

Faster Tracked Services

Faster tracked shipping options can be purchased at the checkout - see the drop down menu on the checkout page for options. If you require a faster delivery than we are offering please contact us at info@worldbackpacker.co.uk as we may be able to help.
