With its innovative, seamless, 3-D knit structure, Patagonia's Capilene Air Crew offers amazing warmth and comfort. An airy blend of 51% merino wool and 49% recycled polyester wicks moisture, resists odor and dries in a flash.
Capilene® Air is the most advanced baselayer we’ve ever made. It has the greatest range of warmth and comfort of any of our baselayers, insulates even when wet, dries quickly, and resists odors for day after day use. Made from an airy blend of 51% merino wool from New Zealand 49% Capilene® recycled polyester, Capilene® Air feels light and soft on theskin and stretches naturally to move with the body in motion.
We create the soft 18.5-micron-guage-yarns used in Capilene® Air with an innovative airblasting technology that dramatically increases the yarn’s loft while reducing weight compared to traditional wool yarn. Our seamless 3-D construction eliminates chafe points throughout the entire garment and nearly eliminates wasted material. Soft, stretchy elastic knit in the cuffs and hem keep the garment positioned where you want it and add skin-pampering comfort for extended use. With a gender-specific box-stitch texture to trap warmth and allow airflow.
The Capilene Air Crew is Patagonia's most advanced baselayer yet. Constructed from both merino wool and recycled polyester, your basically getting the best qualities of wool and synthetic in just one baselayer. It looks like a sweater with it's 3-D knit structure, but it's not thick like a sweater. Besides look, the only quality it actually shares with a sweater is warmth.
The material feels light and soft on your skin and stretches with you as you move. It offers amazing warmth and comfort, even insulating when wet and will resist odours for multiple use. The neck and wrist hems are soft and stretchy elastic knit so it feels comfortable if you want to to roll up the sleeves.
It's one of the most expensive baselayers on our website but the comfort, breathability and warmth it offers makes it a great versatile piece. I was a little unsure at first about the high price tag for a mid weight baselayer but after researching the technology put into it and actually trying it on, it's now on my wish list.

(Unfortunately, we are unable to ship Patagonia products outside of the European Area (defined as the European Economic Area plus Switzerland and the UK))
We aim to ship all orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday, on the same day. Free shipping is offered for UK Orders over £15 order value. The form of shipping will be at our discretion and will be at the most cost effective service. For most parcels this will be Royal Mail Second Class Post, the timescale for delivery is not guaranteed but Royal Mail aim to deliver second class post in 3-4 working days. Some parcels may require a signature.
Faster shipping options can be purchased at the checkout - see the drop down menu, First Class post is available, as is Next Working Day Delivery. We can arrange Next Day Delivery for a Saturday (when the order is placed on Friday) - call us for charges on an individual basis (01740 661467).
We aim to ship all orders placed before 3pm the same day. The default shipping is 'Standard Delivery'. This is an airmail service which does not offer tracking but is very reliable. We have learned from experience that transit times for non-UK orders can be very unpredictable. To geographically close countries in Europe the times are generally up to 4-5 days but can sometimes take a lot longer - we don't know why.
So, for EU Orders over £15 in value we offer FREE delivery, but the service time is unpredictable. If you need your order by a specific date you can opt for a faster service at the checkout.

To geographically close countries in the times are generally up to 4-5 days but can take a lot longer - we don't know why. Countries farther afield generally take longer but the spread of transit times is amazing, we have been notified of parcels arriving in Australia after 3 days and others taking a month and (rarely) longer than this.
So, while the shipping options for ROW are quite cheap the service time is unpredictable.
